Our growth story
SWINGDEV – A HIPPO COMPANY
Why – a hippo company?
We started in IT as a software house, with Hippo Insurance as one of our clients. Our collaboration developed, leading us to officially merge into 'SwingDev — a hippo company' (also known internally as “Hippo Poland”). Now, we're part of something bigger while keeping our “small company” vibe alive.
OUR FUNDAMENTALS
SwingDev's advantages
It's more than just perks. It's how we support one another, foster a positive atmosphere, and value individuality, because your well-being matters to us. So, how can we make your day better?

1.
What was your first job?
Technically first time I got paid regularly (so not an odd job) was working as a research engineer at NASK, writing my thesis on energy-effective (eco) networking. This gives me bragging rights to say that I used to be a scientist (I have even co-published some papers!).

Sous Chef! I lasted 3 days, quit, and learned a ton about myself. I wasn't ready, not sure if anyone is, really. I love cooking and have tremendous respect for people working in the kitchens.

Pretty sure I'd be working on creating some form of the Internet :) Or I'd have a restaurant that's cooking from self-grown top-notch ingredients, always had this itch :)

Waitress. Those shifts and balancing plates taught me more about multitasking and customer service than any textbook ever could. It was an adventure in itself!

2.
What’s your favorite way of spending free time?
I enjoy discovering new things. Whether it's trying my hand (or feet) at a new dance style, overcoming the fear of water on kitesurfing, indulging in singing, or attending a culinary course, I enjoy discovering new stuff. And when I'm not embracing my inner entertainer, you can find me planning my next travel escapade.
2/5
3.
What do you appreciate in people most?
Authenticity. When people show up as their true selves and embrace their imperfections, it creates an environment of trust and connection. Also, I value those who can find joy in chaos and lighten the mood when things get tough. A well-timed joke or a witty remark can truly brighten everyone's day. 🙂

What would you do for a living if there was no Internet at all?
I would most likely choose to be a farmer, producing food for others. For some reason, this resonates with me as a very meaningful job. Additionally, being a farmer would allow me to be near nature and have a greater understanding of the seasonal aspects of everything that surrounds us.

1.
What was your first job?
My first job was a sizzling adventure—literally. I was a grill chef at a bustling restaurant, flipping steaks and sweating buckets in a kitchen that felt hotter than the sun. The days were long—16 hours long! But I'd always arrive early to carve veggie masterpieces, like roses out of radishes. It was tough work, but it grilled the importance of education into me (pun intended).

What’s your favorite way of spending free time?
In my free time, I become a sound explorer and a kitchen wizard. Picture me, deep in the woods with a microphone, capturing the serenade of nature and turning it into epic tracks. Seeing growth and knowledge-sharing in my team lights my motivational fire. There's nothing like watching your team become so independent that you start to wonder if they even need you anymore. Spoiler: they do, but it’s still nice to feel a bit redundant because it means they’re rocking it.

I worked on the construction site as a gardener and “new-homes post-construction cleaner” (very linkedin style, made-up name).
